The Quigley Affair
Rev. Patrick Quigley, ordained in 1981, associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, pleaded guilty in December 1994 to a misdemeanor charge after admitting he had offered to pay several boys for sex in Haverstraw village.
Quigley once served as the parochial vicar at St. Christopher’s Church in Grant City and held a variety of other posts on Staten Island, including six years at St. Teresa’s Church, Castleton Corners and a teaching job at St. Joseph-by-the-Sea High School, Huguenot. He had also served in Manhattan. He was removed from ministry and sent for psychiatric treatment. Defrocked by the Vatican July 2005.
