Message from Alum
I’m an alum and a supporter of the school. I want Delbarton to succeed and be a great place for young men to get a great college preparatory education. But in order for that to happen, there can be no abuse and no tolerance of it. Everyone in a position of authority needs to be on notice that students are empowered to speak, students are educated about boundaries, and students who do speak will be taken seriously.
There needs to be a climate where anyone who wants to be a predator knows that Delbarton is too hostile an environment for them to follow through as a predator. So good luck to you and those who you’re advocating for and giving a voice to. Don’t kill the place, please, but I hope you change the culture…and find people there who are willing to champion that change while eradicating the cretins who resist it.
I get the impression that you’re more inclined toward a “wipe the place off the face of the Earth mode.” I can respect where you’re coming from so, if I’m correct about your endgame, I’ll just hope that you don’t get quite that far while applauding you as you force changes that shouldn’t require any outside pressure at all.
